The Best Combination of Exercise and Diet So Far
I’m 41 and have been working out since I was in high school. With less time, more demands on the time I DO have, and the ‘rat race’ getting in the way, I’ve been on a quest to find the most EFFICIENT workouts, having tried pretty much EVERYTHING.
Here’s where I’m at:
1) Cardio - nothing beats the Tabata Protocol. Period. ’nuff said. If you’ve never heard of it, go to Tabata Protocol. If you HAVE heard of it and haven’t tried it, WHAT???? Try it now, but start off SLOWWWWWWLLLLYYYY - I’ve had the most ‘hardened’ of athletes get their ass kicked by a beginner Tabata Protocol workout. (I’m dead serious).
The Tabata Protocol takes less than 10 minutes. You don’t even have to change clothes - there isn’t enough time to sweat. But if you think those 10 minutes aren’t the best workout you’ll ever get in your life, well…..ignorance is bliss I suppose.
2) Strength Training - 1RepGym - overloads the muscles to the max, stimulates muscle growth, builds muscle, prevents injury, takes 10 minutes every couple weeks (seriously - you simply CAN’T do this workout more frequently once you’ve gotten past the beginner stage)
3) Diet - Warrior Diet - basically a controlled fast all day, eat whatever you want at night. Burn up those waste products in your system, stay thin, don’t count calories, and don’t worry about what to take with you for lunch because, well, you don’t get to eat lunch.
4) Flexibility - uh, stretching. Duh.
That’s it - fitness nirvana, if you’re up to the challenge.
